Sandra is a masterful award winning novelist. I don’t know if this is her first or anything except the novel I read. She’s taken on a tough “two worlds” story in different time periods and made it work. Her authenticity and knowledge of 19th century life as well as modern American West and ranch country people and places and things is a true pleasure to read. She’s fabulously eloquent and I hope this story finds a great home somewhere. If she self-publishes, she should do much more with her character Carolina, a strong woman who grabs your heart – wish I knew more like her. It’s difficult to write a dual timeline novel and make it work, particularly with a first novel, but Sandra succeeds in thrilling fashion.
